Get to Know GLCCA Board Member Jaime Barthel
A passion for her job and a desire to make a difference – these are the qualities that most accurately define GLCCA’s newest board member, Jaime Barthel, and what she in turn brings to the GLCCA membership.
Jaime, who is currently the Director of Operations at Professional Service Bureau in Elk River, Minnesota, believes that in order to lead people well, you must understand what they are going through. This is why her tenure in the collection industry has seen her taking on nearly every role. “In order to really understand the concerns of our employees, it’s important to have a feel for what they’re experiencing. This is how you gain their respect and trust,” Jaime indicates.
She has worked her way up to her current position at Professional Service Bureau, and has over a decade of experience with the agency. “I believe that there is no role that is beneath anyone here at our agency. This is why I’m thankful for all the positions I have enjoyed throughout my career,” she notes.
Jaime is filling the board position of Sjorn Lunquist, who recently resigned his seat. “I’m excited to get started and help out on the board. I feel like we are headed in a really exciting direction and I am honored to be a part of this journey,” she adds. Barthel will be part of the legislative committee on the GLCCA board. In this role, she will help members understand and navigate the ever-present changes to compliance rules and regulations.
When asked what she felt GLCCA has to offer members, Jaime emphatically noted all the amazing resources. “From webinars, to the annual meeting, there are so many tools to help strengthen business practices. In addition, the networking opportunities are invaluable. There is so much wisdom among our membership, and such a willingness to help others within the industry. It would be a shame not to take advantage of them.”
When Jaime is not overseeing operations at Professional Service Bureau, she is enjoying the outdoors with her husband, two dogs, and a horse. “Minnesota is such a beautiful state with year-round activities. I love getting out in the midst of it and experiencing it all.”
